- Know Your Rights As a financial consumer, you are entitled to fair treatment, transparent information, and data privacy. Before confirming any payment, you should always be clearly informed about what you are paying for, including any applicable transaction fees.
- Know Your Options Different payment channels suit different needs. Whether you choose online banking, e-wallets, or over-the-counter payments, always select the channel you trust and understand completely.
- Know the Risks Cyber threats and phishing attempts are constantly changing. Protect your financial accounts by building these habits:
Never share your One-Time Password (OTP) or MPIN with anyone under any circumstances.
Double-check website URLs and sender details before entering account information.
Avoid clicking on links sent through unsolicited SMS or unofficial chat apps.
What to Do If Your Account or Transaction is CompromisedIf you suspect that your online transaction has been compromised, or if you notice unauthorized activity involving your payment details, take action immediately:
Step 1: Contact Your Bank or E-Wallet Provider First. If the source of your funds (your bank account or mobile wallet) is compromised, call their customer hotline immediately to freeze your account or block further transfers.
Step 2: Report to the proper authorities. Document the transaction details (reference numbers, dates, and amounts). For financial scams, unauthorized access, or cyber fraud, you should also report the incident directly to law enforcement authorities:
