What is the Dragonpay Online Bank Payment Gateway?

This is an e-commerce facility that allows customers of supported banks to pay a merchant for goods or services electronically using his designated bank account. The amount due is deducted from the customer’s account in real-time upon confirmation. The merchant is then notified electronically of the payment status in real-time so that he may process the shipping or delivery of the item or service purchased.

What is my login id and password?

The login id and password that is being prompted from you is your online or Internet banking login id and password with your bank. This is the same login id and password you use when you check your bank account balance over the Internet. Dragonpay does not require a separate id and password other than the one you already have.

If you do not know your Internet banking login id and password, chances are you have not applied for one with your bank. Almost all full-service commercial banks provide online banking services to their clients for free. They go by different names. For example, BPI calls their Internet banking BPI Express Online; RCBC calls theirs RCBC AccessOne; Metrobank calls theirs Metrobankdirect; and so on.

In addition to a login id and password, some banks may require a separate transaction password to perform a financial transaction. Supported banks that require this includes Unionbank, RCBC and Chinabank. Make sure you have the correct transaction password when making an online payment through Dragonpay. Some banks provide a short expiration period for their passwords (ex. 3 months, 6 months). If it has been some time since you last used your Internet banking facility, you may want to login to your Internet banking account first and make sure all your passwords are current.

Is it safe to enter my online banking id and password in Dragonpay?

Dragonpay takes utmost care and precaution in accepting your id and password and interfacing with your bank’s system. We do not keep your passwords in permanent storage. It is only used for the duration of the transaction with your bank. However, we may keep track of your login id so that our system can detect suspicious or possible fraudulent activities using your bank account and take necessary actions to protect both of us.

The Dragonpay Payment Gateway uses industry-standard 128-bit Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology to protect the transmission of your data from your browser to our server. This is the same encryption technology used by all financial institutions worldwide.

Step 1
Shop Online

Shop online and go through the normal checkout process.  Choose Dragonpay as the payment option.

Step 2
Choose bank

You will be prompted for the payment fund source.  Choose among the Online Bank payment options.  In the example here, you chose Unionbank as the fund source.  This means that you will pay using your Unionbank Internet Banking account.

Step 3
Login to online banking

You will be prompted for your Unionbank Internet Banking login id and password. Enter them here correctly and click the Continue button to proceed.

Step 4
Choose account

Dragonpay will retrieve the bank accounts enrolled in your Internet banking facility and present them in a dropdown list. Choose the account you wish to debit the payment from.

Depending on your bank’s policy, they may require a Transaction Password, which is different from your Login Password in order to perform financial transactions.  If it does, enter that password in the blank space provided.  Internet banking facilities that require such a password includes those from Unionbank, Chinabank, and RCBC.  Other banks like BDO, BPI, EastWest Bank and Metrobank do not require this.

After you have selected the account and provided the Transaction Password (if any), click the Pay button to authorize Dragonpay to charge the online purchase from that account.

Step 5

Upon completion, your browser will be redirected back to the merchant site.  You will be informed by the merchant on the completion status — whether successful or not.  Possible causes for a failed transaction include: an incorrect Transaction Password was provided; or the total amount you were requesting is beyond the daily limit allowed by your bank’s Internet banking facility.  Most banks limit online payments to a maximum of PHP 50,000 a day.

Step 6
Email confirmation

Dragonpay will send a confirmation to your email address with the status of the payment — whether successful or not.   The online merchant that you made the payment to would also normally send you an email confirming the receipt of payment.
